Davidson High School’s NJROTC made a statement at the Area‑16 Championship “Super Meet” in Philadelphia, MS! Our cadets brought home six awards, including:
🏆 1st Place – Academic Competition
🏆 1st Place – Personnel Inspection
🏆 1st Place – 16x100 Relay
🥈 2nd Place – Unarmed Exhibition Drill
🥉 3rd Place – Push Ups
🥉 3rd Place – Curl Ups
One instructor even said he “never saw Davidson coming”—and we couldn’t agree more. Our Warriors showed grit, discipline, and heart from start to finish.
As Commander Hamblet shared, “The trophies are wonderful and well deserved, but they do not reflect the true emotional reward and immense pride these cadets felt at the end of the day… It was transformational for them.”
We are incredibly proud of our NJROTC cadets, Senior Chief, Master Sergeant, and the entire team of educators who push our students to grow every day. Way to go, Warriors! 🖤💛

✨ Surprise in Dr. Moody’s class today!
Hannah Hart with Keep Mobile Beautiful stopped by to award him a $400 grant!
Dr. Moody applied for this funding so the Garden Club he sponsors can purchase supplies to build a brand‑new herb garden. Their goal? To help support our Culinary Department with fresh, home‑grown herbs!
Congratulations, Dr. Moody, and thank you for all that you do for Davidson! 🖤💛

When kitchens are under renovation, learning doesn’t stop — it evolves.
Despite having no operational kitchens, our Culinary and Hospitality & Tourism students engaged in a full day of meaningful, standards-aligned lab experiences through creativity, flexibility, and intentional instructional design.
🔹 Culinary II (3rd-year students) conducted a cultural and culinary comparison of Japanese sushi and Korean kimbap, examining ingredients, preparation methods, and global food traditions.
🔹 Culinary I (2nd-year students) analyzed the nutritional differences between quiche, egg-white egg bites, and a hard-cooked egg with a bacon skewer, reinforcing food science, nutrition, and consumer awareness concepts.
🔹 Hospitality & Tourism (1st-year students) explored coffee and tea service, café culture, and pastry terminology, sampling semi-homemade café au lait and chai tea alongside store-bought apple popovers and palmiers to connect theory with real-world hospitality practices.
No stoves. No ovens.
✔️ High-level thinking
✔️ Career-focused skills
✔️ Engaged, adaptable students
This was a highly successful instructional day and a strong example of how Career & Technical Education programs continue to deliver rigorous, relevant learning — even during major facility renovations.
